our homeschool group
EMBRACE (formerly known as A Different Drum - Sarnia/Lambton) is a group of 70 families (as of September, 2013) and has been online for 7 years. We have grown and flourished over the past couple of years and we have decided to expand our area to include Kent County. There are many activities that we do together. Some activities include Lego club, gymnastics, field trips, meetings, park days, and many more. Social media along with group meet-ups and planned activities provide much needed support, resources, and social interaction to homeschooling families in this area. The families in our group homeschool in many different ways. Some families follow a curriculum of their choice, some make their own curriculum, and some families are life Learners. Our families homeschool for many different reasons. Even though we are a diverse group, what brings us together is the fact that we are all learning outside of school. Usually that diversity means that the support and resources come from many different places. Due to that diversity some members may consider trying things that they never would have thought of before. What a great benefit! It's like expanding our world, even on the days that we need to stay home.
